Congratulations to our March Madness winner, Cynthia Black, and a huge thank-you to Lone Pine Ranch for their service in Arkansas!
We asked Cynthia to share why she chose Lone Pine Ranch to receive the March Madness grant, and here’s what she wrote:
"I chose Lone Pine because I know how much a dog lover Kim is and she relies on donations to take care of the animals that she receives. Just some info for you: Centerton is located next to Bentonville where we all attended school. Bentonville is the home headquarters of Wal-Mart. The Wal-Mart store in Bentonville would save the busted bags of dog food, which they couldn't sell, and Kim's dad would drive in once a week and they would donate the food to Lone Pine. So I guess you could say its a community involved shelter. I knew that Kim could use the $500 and where better to donate to than my hometown."
In addition to the Lost Pines donation, the March Madness giveaway also donated $500 to Emily's local rescue group, Legacy Boxer Rescue of Hurst, Texas. You can read more at Legacy at www.savetheboxers.com
Emily thanks New York Times bestselling author and rescue lover Mariah Stewart for her generous financial contribution to the March Madness grand prize grant for Lone Pine Ranch.
